Write it Down!

As I was just looking through a drawer of kids’ notes, cards, etc. looking for some things for J’s school album, I found another folder of “work” from years of therapy. I usually take notes during the week before therapy because by the time it rolls around I’ve forgotten every little manipulative annoying thing that’s happened. I didn’t spend much time reading these records but I realize how very far M and S have come because of the many things I recorded about their behaviors. Ladies, write it down! When you’re in the midst of the battle realizing how far they have come will be inspiration to continue on. It may seem like they are only exchanging one behavior for another and maybe they are. But there really is hope and on those days when you want to run away, it helps to look at the specific behaviors, some of them frightening and horrific, and realize years of work and prayer are not wasted.

I have found this to be true also. As hard as things are some days I can look back on my blog and quickly realize we have gotten through some things..even though new things have taken their place. At least there is progress in some areas. Keeps my hope alive. And we all need that shread of hope, for sure.

**Thank you so much for your encouragement. I can’t tell you how much it means to me to know there is someone who truly understands about all of “it”. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
