As I was putting away the Christmas decorations I was already thinking ahead to Valentine’s Day,
just about my favoritest holiday (my anniversary and chocolate hearts all rolled up into one!)
Visions of red burlap, white lace and pearls were dancing through my head.
After lugging my decorations down from the attic I pondered and unloaded and set up and rearranged.
Here is my thrifty DIY Valentine centerpiece!
There is sentimental (this lace runner was my mom’s)
mixed with free (found objects from my home decor stash)
together with inexpensive (the flower cost $.25)
and purchased on sale (red glitter leaves from craft store at 80% off)
Finally, there has to be mention of the token tempting chocolate (two votive holders filled with red m&ms (red and Christmas chocolate on sale picked out of the bag one at a time by my son. Truly the best chore ever
Lastly, my homage to the wonderful day itself with a little bit of love (also $.25 at the craft store.)
See this little jar? Stay tuned because next time I’m going to share the story behind this candle holder and give you all the details on my little treasures.
Can’t wait until Valentine’s Day either? My hubby and I celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary on Valentine’s Day last year. We had a wonderful photo booth for family fun and beautiful decorations for our magical celebration. How do you celebrate each year?

That is a truly sweet (no pun intended) vignette, Marty. Valentine’s decor can be just about anything you want — very whimsical to extremely romantic and everything in between — that’s what makes it so much fun!
