I am happy to share with you some exciting news about a conference I’m taking part in later this month. Along with Amy at Atta Girl Says I’m going to be leading a hands on furniture painting workshop at the 5th Annual Becoming Conference organized by my friend Jen at Balancing Beauty and Bedlam and Jenny at SouthernSavers.com.
With topics ranging from DIY, home decor, hand lettering, meal planning/freezer cooking, saving money, finances, natural living, organization, fashion, mothering and family, there’s something for everyone! Plus, you will laugh and cry with one of the funniest women ever delivering the keynote talks.
Speakers include KariAnne, writer of the blog Thistlewood Farms, motivational speaker Kelly Swanson, Tricia Callahan of Once a Month Meals, Vanessa Hunt, the author of the lifestyle blog At the Picket Fence, Courtney Brown, CEO and Founder of Cents of Style, Erin Odom, blogger at The Humbled Homemaker , Maghon Taylor of All She Wrote Notes, Holly Dvorak of Controlling the Spin Within, and modern portrait and lifestyle photographer Ashley Essig.
We will be kickin’ back and relaxin’ in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of NC. It’s the perfect girls get away weekend, and you will leave refreshed and encouraged on so many levels.
Personal plug for the facilities: I’ve been to Ridgecrest many times and there are amazing rocking chairs where you can just sit and stare at the majestic mountains and let the cares of the world roll off your back. Plus you can talk and rock and talk some more!
In the workshop we are facilitating you will bring your own small side table and complete a top to bottom makeover using chalk paint, plus go home with extra paint for another project. Don’t worry about any timely prep work on your piece because you won’t need it! You just have to be able to carry the piece yourself!
Here’s a little bit of video to tempt you.
This is a truly affordable weekend away with the conference, hotel, three meals and lots of goodies for under $100 (if sharing room with friends.) Check out all the details at www.becomingconf.com and follow along on the facebook page for updates.
If you already live around Asheville and don’t need a place to stay, there’s an option for you, too:
There are still tickets available but don’t delay! I’d love to meet some of my readers there!
