As I was looking through some older scrapbook pages (yes, I’ve been through many hairstyles and no, these pages aren’t that great) I came across this writing that touched me many years ago. I was in the middle of the frantic years of raising wounded kids and homeschooling and cooking and cleaning and teaching and ministering and doing. Years with little notice from the world or the family I was raising.
Now I see the active years in raising my children are coming to a foreseeable end. Not yet, but in a few short years. I know personally how fast these years go by. They were a blur yet they were the foundation for the children now serving God in their own homes. How I wish I had someone who could have gently reminded me that those years are irreplaceable. To tell me the seeds I was planting would indeed grow and flourish, not without storms and struggles, but with relationships that pointed to God.
I hope this piece encourages someone that what you are doing is vital. Life changing. Even at times, heroic. Your life and work does not go unnoticed by God.

Marty!!!!!—tears tears tears!!!!–You are amazing I know I always say that but seriously girlfriend this spoke to me in so many ways –Thank you!!!!!!!–Thank you thank you for this post you are amazing!!!! I love this post and I am going to print it out–so crazy—- I had my teeth cleaned today and me and the dentist were talking about our children I was telling her about my sweet boys and it being a “calling” because I know it is not my strength that gets me through –We are back from the beach and my sweet boys are crazy trying to settle in My caleb cried for an hour tonight asking me to homeschool him–this about broke my heart as I held him and asked him –did something happen at school –he said no he just wants to be home I think he is more than ready for the end of the year –me too babe me too–tears Marty tears
God is truly in the details and I believe when he wants me to hear something from him he seems to tell me over and over through other people, sermons, his word, blogs this boggles my mind everytime that he can find me and that I know he is speaking to me —the word “calling” has come up quite a bit lately and rising above my circumstances and looking toward HIM –his love is in the details of life and it is a love I have never known before he is soooo good to me Marty sooo good —

Very beautiful. I often forget this as I grumble about the laundry. Thanks for the reminder and helping me focus on the end goal; pleasing my heavenly Father. Stopping by from the Back to school link up. Hope to see you at True Aim.
Thank you for the encouragement. We all have things we struggle about. Daily things. Routines. Chores. Messy houses. Surly kids. But we can return it all as a gift to the Father. And He still loves us.
P.S. I am a new follower!
I am so glad this gives you courage. I am in a different season of my life and I want to encourage other moms to stay the course in loving and educating and raising up children to know God. I hope you will take time to look around my blog because I share many of my hopes and dreams and struggles and failures very transparently, with the goal to always be pointing to God.
