Deal of the Week

I didn’t get to go yardsaling this week because I kept my great nephew Will (almost one) Saturday morning.
Here is a treasure I found a couple of weeks ago. I got these candle holders at 3/$1. That’s right, just $.33 each. I thought they would make great bookends but I was informed by my husband that they were actually drapery rod holders. Three was certainly an odd number but we made them work as candle holders, two in our bedroom and one in the den. Pretty nifty, right? The picture in the center was given to me by my niece (whose son I was keeping) and the other two pictures I picked up at a yard sale many years ago. And yes, our walls are really that goldish color.
My hubby used Venetian Plaster paint on the walls, a unique and beautiful look that I love.

I am seriously not the most creative person, but I know when to take other people’s suggestions about decor. Some things I buy just do not work, but I’m pleased that my $1 went to add a sophisticated touch to our home.
What deals did you find this week?

I’ve seen those things before, but I never thought of a good use for them. I think they make great candle holders. You’ve created a lovely wall grouping.

33 cents is a great bargain for such cute candle holders/drapery rods… 😉
