Deal of the Week: Boots and Magic Bullet Score!

Say it with me……it’s yard sale season!  Woohoo! At our house that means it’s time to stock up on all those necessities (clothes and shoes in bigger sizes, college supplies, etc.) and great deals. I have been a yard saler for 25 years and I still enjoy the hunt for a bargain!

Last Saturday I bought a pair of Chinese Laundry grey boots and a pair of Steven Madden black boots (regular price $100 and $90 online) for $2 each. They are both 7 1/2 which is a size too small for me so I intended them for my younger daughter. Tried them on and they fit me! Doing the happy dance! Now I won’t wear them for hours at a time because they would probably be uncomfortable but they WILL be worn! They’re a little too big and too long for my daughter but she can grow into them. This was a great deal!

The boots were my personal favorite purchase but the next one was a hit with the family. I found a Magic Bullet knockoff at a yard sale for $10. I didn’t even know what one was until my friend Jane explained that it was like a little individual blender, but much more convenient. She told me they were $59 regular price. I asked the yard sale host if she would take $10 and this little baby came home with me. Score!
After I got home I looked it up on the internet and found out the Bella Cucina was a cheaper version of the Magic Bullet and could be purchased on Amazon for around $30. I was disappointed because that wasn’t as good a savings margin, but it was brand new and it was mine.

My college son has since informed me that the Magic Bullet was the best yard sale purchase ever! I had no idea it would be such a hit with my family. Before we would drag down the blender and make a big mess. Now I leave it out on the counter where it’s easily accessible. It’s small and compact (and I probably have to hide it so Joshua doesn’t take it back to school with him!) and works great.

Does anyone have any great recipes to share?

Hiya Marty, I’m a new follower and found you at Our Delightful Home. I love the Magic Bullet after staying with a friend and she had one. There are so many uses from grinding your own coffee to baking. I would be happy with the knockoff, you scored big!
I’d love if you’d share your big deal at Frugal Treasures Tuesday. Have a great week.
