Homework-Wednesday-Link-Party-from-Martys-Musings-11

Happy Fourth of July week, y’all!  FYI, we are allowing link party #7 to go on for a few more days so that we can all celebrate the holiday. I’ll be back next Monday with my top three favorites from the Home{work} Wednesday party and then we’ll open the party as usual Tuesday night, July 9th.

If you follow on instagram, facebook  or twitter you probably know we my husband gutted our bathroom a few weeks ago. (I like to take the credit but really, I just tried to stay out of the way. Our bathroom is teensy tiny.)

I can’t wait to show you the reveal because we are DONE! (Okay, a couple of little things left, but 99%done!)

The room is so tiny you have to be an acrobat just to photograph it! Imagine standing  one the side of the bathtub next to the wall with one toe hanging on the edge and the other foot on the opposite edge, elbow propped against the wall. Now imagine the tripod in the tub with me. Yeah, it was kinda like playing Twister by myself.

Seriously, I don’t know how all these real photographers do it, but I’m waiting on a lens that I hope will do the room justice. My DIY hubby and I spent literally hours talking through what we wanted for the room and how to get it done on a budget. I am so pleased with the results that I’m like a kid at Christmas. I keep finding excuses to go in there and straighten the towels and piddle with the accessories.

So enough about me. In lieu of Home{work} Wednesday this week  I thought I’d take this break to introduce you to my wonderful cohosts. Cohostesses. “Hostess with the mostest” is what my hubby calls us.

First up is Amy from Atta Girl Says with this Milk Painted French Provincial End Table. Amy is a whiz with a paint brush and a very funny writer. My daughter wrote for her when Amy worked at the local newspaper as her editor. Go check out her blog for some great projects and a humorous look at life.

She’s also allowing me to tag along with her to Haven, the DIY/Home blogging conference, and I know I’ll have tons of stories to share (right after my  knees stop shaking!)

Suzy from Worthing Court is one of the sweetest Southern ladies around. We ran into each other in Walmart one day, and she didn’t recognize me (maybe the glasses, no makeup and sweats were a hindrance) but she recognized my husband! I think I need to get out more often!

I love her Summer Vignette in the Kitchen because I struggle with vignettes and decorating shelves and bookcases. Go visit Suzy and tell her how amazing she is!

Last up is Barb from The Everyday Home.  I first met her (though she doesn’t remember that ’cause apparently I’m quite forgettable!) at last years Southern Bloggers Conference. These lovely ladies who cohost with me each week were the brains behind the blogging conference that stretched me and pushed me into pursuing my dream of taking my blog to the next level.

Barb is a dynamo who gets things done with Southern charm. Check out her blog and her online shop and encourage her as she is transitioning from Blogger to WordPress. I especially love this Grilled Angel Food Cake she whipped up.

I am so blessed to be a part of Home{work} Wednesday, as these ladies let me hang out with them each week. They are all as real and genuine as they appear. Everybody better watch out when these southern ladies take on Haven!

As for me this week, in addition to the link party and features, I shared this unbelievable Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup Lasagna,

the first part of our post on our DIY tile shower project

How to Tile the Shower Yourself from Marty's Musings

and the video “We Will See” from Gateway Worship, for my Simple Gift Sunday post.

See you next week at our link party!

You are so sweet. I am so honored to know you and to have become friends with you, too. And please don’t take it personal, teh conference “behind the scenes” was so crazy I didn’t hardly know my own name. LOL But, I can’t wait until Haven and know we are going to have a BALL. Your shower is gorgeous. Maybe this will inspire my own hubby to start on ours. xxoo

Barb, you’re so sweet to comment! I’ve enjoyed our late, late night conversations! Haven is going to be so much fun, and I’m glad I know you gals to help me fit in! And maybe your hubby will get motivated for your shower but I highly doubt it was as bad as this!
